Description:
Assistant Professor in English, one of fourteen departments within the College of Arts & Sciences. Tenure-earning, beginning August 15, 2008. $42,500 (AY). Teaching load 12 hours (four courses) per semester: English Grammar and Usage, English Linguistics, History of the English Language, composition, introduction to literature, undergraduate and/or graduate courses in British or American literatures. Scholarly productivity and academic service expected. Required: PhD in Linguistics, or English with Linguistics minor; specialty in English Linguistics; academic background and interest in teaching literature. Preference given to candidates with college-level teaching experience; interest in preparing teachers for grades 6-12; academic background or teaching experience in ESOL or British Medieval literature.
