Position: Director of the Centre for Academic English Institution: Stockholm University The Department of English at Stockholm University, Sweden wishes to employ an EAP professional to fill the post of Director of the Centre for Academic English at Stockholm University, Sweden. The candidate should have documented experience in the field of English for Academic Purposes, with particular reference to students and researchers from an ESL/EFL background. The Centre for Academic English has recently been established in order (i) to meet to the needs of students (particularly at graduate level) in writing and speaking academic English; and (ii) in order to provide support to Stockholm University's research community in publishing internationally in English. Ideally, the candidate should have a broad experience of work in this field, and a good record of publications. The post provides an exciting opportunity for the Director to supervise the development and expansion of the Centre in the years to come, which will also entail the recruitment of numbers of additional teaching staff. As web-supported courses will be a key feature of course programmes, it is also highly desirable that the appointee have the ability and expertise to help mount courses supported by the latest Internet technologies. This is a tenure-track position at Associate Professor/Full Professor level, and will carry a competitive salary.
