Here is an article which fascinated me. Every single one of the linguistic truisms about linguistic equality we hold so dear are taken to task, by a non-linguist. And I found myself thinking that, even though he doesn't know all the details or the finer points of the theories he discusses, he shows a real, though non-expert, understanding of them. I came away thinking: he'll make linguists mad, but this guy's got a point.
