Teaching duties The successful candidate will teach English as a foreign language to undergraduate students along with other English language related subjects; additionally, the selected candidate will instruct graduate students in the Graduate School of International Communication and Media. 2. Qualifications The successful candidate will - be a native, or near native speaker of English. - possess at least a master's degree. A PhD is strongly preferred. - have expertise in one or more of the following areas: applied linguistics; linguistics; communication, etc. Experience in TEFL is also required. - be 41 or under at the commencement of duties. 3. Contract period From as early as April 15, 2007 to March 31, 2010. 4. Salary Compensation follows the standard Hokkaido University scale and is adjusted according to age, employment history, and family structure. Travel expenses to Sapporo will be compensated after arrival. 5. Responsibilities - teaching two 15-week semesters - maximum 18 hours per week - developing materials and research - entrance exam preparation and grading 6.
