SUMMER-I: L73 Hindi 101 SESSION-I: MAY 18- JUNE 8, 2007 Title: Intensive Beginning Hindi-Urdu I Course Description: Intensive Beginning Hindi-Urdu (three weeks) will provide basic training in spoken and written Hindi-Urdu. The aim of this course is to achieve proficiency in spoken comprehension, and to enable the student to acquire the major language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In general, one fourth of the time will be devoted to reading, one fourth to conversation, one fourth to grammar, and one fourth to drills of various kinds and language lab including web based materials. The course is based on the communicative approach of language teaching and learning. This course does not replace the Hindi 111-112 sequence in the College of Arts & Sciences. No prerequisites.
