Job Description: The newly formed Department of Linguistics and Technical Communication at the University of North Texas is accepting applications for a visiting assistant professor for a non-tenure-track position in Linguistics during the 2008-09 academic year (beginning August 25, 2008). Teaching load and assignment will depend on qualifications and circumstances; for a well-qualified candidate who is active in the field we project a 3/3 load including upper-level undergraduate and introductory graduate courses (Phonology in fall 2008). During the spring 2009 semester there will be an opportunity to teach a graduate course in the area of expertise. Qualifications: Required qualifications include a PhD in Linguistics; previous teaching and/or research in Phonology is strongly desired.
