Description:
Position: TTS Language Development and Quality Engineer
SVOX AG (www.svox.com) is a dynamic technology company specialized in
text-to-speech and a leading provider of speech output solutions for
automotive and mobile devices. We are seeking to add to our research and
development team a TTS quality engineer with the resposibility of driving
the quality assurance of existing language packages. This involves ongoing
testing, updating, and improving the language packages, as well as being
responsive to specific needs from customer projects.
Tasks:
- improving and implementing the quality assurance processes for language
packages (lingware)
- extending test framework and quality standards
- improving text analysis packages
- lexicon corrections
- text preprocessing corrections and additions
- phonological and morphological rule updates
- syntactical and prosodical rule updates
- improving signal generation packages
- analyzing and identifying problem units in the speech synthesis module
- setting up tools to replace or improve problem units
• managing lingware update projects
- recruiting temporary language specialists
- planning time and resources
- reintegrating results and version control
- responding to specific customer project needs
Formal requirements:
- Masters degree in linguistics, computer science or related field
- 1+ years experience in text-to-speech technology
- 1+ years experience from software testing/quality assurance
- Programming and/or scripting skills
- Experience in project management is desirable
Personal requirements:
- Good knowledge of English (additional languages is a plus)
- Hands-on, team player and self-starter
- Profound interest in speech technology and natural language processing
- High quality standards
- Willingness to relocate to Zurich, Switzerland
