Brill announces publication of the Linguistic Bibliography as of
2008
Brill is delighted to announce publication of the Linguistic
Bibliography/Bibliographie Linguistique as of 2008 (previously
Springer). The publication perfectly fits Brill’s developing publishing
program in the area of Language & Linguistics.
The Linguistic Bibliography provides bibliographical references to
scholarly publications in linguistics. It is edited by Sijmen Tol and Hella
Olbertz on the authority of the Comité International Permanent de
Linguistes(CIPL), http://www.ciplnet.com, under the auspices of the
International Council for Philosophy and Humanistic Studies of UNESCO.
It covers all branches of linguistics, both theoretical and descriptive,
from all geographical areas, including less-known and extinct languages.
Particular attention is paid to the many endangered languages of the world.
The emphasis is on non-Indo-European languages and lesser known
Indo-European languages. The focus is on hard-to access linguistic works
published outside Western Europe and North-America. This is guaranteed by
the collaboration of some forty contributing specialists from all over the
world.
As of 2008, annual volumes of the Linguistic Bibliography will be
published in print by Brill. Brill will also develop the Linguistic
Bibliography Online and improve functionalities and interface to launch
a new fully-searchable online database. Until launch, the current online
database remains freely accessible at http://www.linguisticbibliography.com
