The Department of Linguistic of the University of Bremen and the Department
of Modern Languages of the University of Oldenburg would like to announce a
new Master of Language Sciences starting in the fall semester 2008/2009.
This program is launched by a new ambitious corporation project between the
two universities. With a teaching staff of seventeen professors, the two
universities create a new centre of linguistic research and teaching in the
North-West of Germany. The program combines the philological expertise in
Dutch, English, German, Romance and Slavic Linguisitcs and General and
Comparative Linguistics. The focus of this new M. A. is on the domains
''Language description and Language comparison'', ''Language, Society and
Politics'', ''Computional Linguistics / Natural Language Processing'' and
''Language and Cognition''. It provides the opportunity to graduate on the
