The Department of English Language, Literature and Linguistics at Providence University in Shalu, Taichung County, Taiwan, R.O.C., invites applications for two different positions, all as Assistant Professor or above: 1. PhD holders in Applied Linguistics and Experimental Design and Statistics to teach related courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will teach specialized courses in his/her own field in the Graduate and Undergraduate Program, but general English courses will also be among the courses taught on the undergraduate level in the English Department. 2. PhD holders in Language Teaching, Translation, and Interpretation to teach related courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful applicant will teach specialized courses in his/her own field in the Graduate and Undergraduate Program, but general English courses will also be among the courses taught on the undergraduate level in the English Department. The positions require a doctoral degree in hand (or, at the latest, by the positions' starting date: February 1, 2009). Required documents for the application: cover letter, specifying the position(s) being applied for; curriculum vitae, diploma, official transcript, three letters of recommendation, an abstract of the dissertation or a representative publication, and a DVD containing a 30-min teaching demo.
