Description:
The Kyungpook National University (KNU), Department of English Language and Literature seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor (or above) in the area of General Linguistics. The successful candidate will teach specialized courses in his/her own field in the Graduate and Undergraduate Program, but general English courses will also be among the courses taught on the undergraduate level. The teaching load is two or three courses per 15-week semester, and the professor should carry out excellent research in the specialized area, and have the ability to conduct effective teaching, student supervision, and collaboration in the departmental work. With over 30,000 students and 1,100 faculty members, KNU is one of Korea's leading universities and a research-extensive university. Located by Korea's ancient cultural capital, KNU is also committed to creating a thriving international academic environment that can challenge the aspirations of global education. Qualifications: PhD in Linguistics or Applied English Linguistics (at least PhD in hand by the time of appointment, 1 March, 2009) and native English speaker.
