The Department of Linguistics at Harvard University invites applications for an appointment, to begin July 1, 2009, for a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor or untenured Associate Professor in the area of syntactic theory. Candidates must show demonstrated promise of excellence in research and teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A strong doctoral record is required. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong interest in one or more language areas or a second specialization in a related subfield (e.g., semantics, psycholinguistics, computational linguistics). Letters of application, accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae and three confidential letters of recommendation, should be sent to LSearch fas.harvard.edu and followed up by hard copy to the application address listed below.
