The Department of Linguistics of the University of Ottawa invites applications for a tenure track position in Psycholinguistics at the Assistant Professor level, commencing July 1, 2009. For more detail on our programs, please visit our website. Applicants should have a PhD in Linguistics, Psycholinguistics or related field, with evidence of strong research potential. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an active research program. Participation in the Department's new ERP Laboratory will be seen as an asset. Preference will be given to candidates able to teach in both English and French within a specified period of time. Applicants should submit a c.v., representative samples of their research, and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to Dr. Ian MacKay, Interim Chair, Department of Linguistics, at the address given below. The salary is determined in accordance with the Collective Agreement. This position is pending budgetary approval. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. Equity is a University policy; Aboriginal peoples, members of visible minorities and person with disabilities are encouraged to apply. The University of Ottawa is justly proud of its 150-year tradition of bilingualism. Through its Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute, the University provides training to staff members and to their spouses in their second official language. At the time of tenure, professors are expected to have the ability to function in a bilingual setting. In certain cases, professors must have the ability to teach in both official languages to be granted tenure.
