The theme of this year's ARF is 'From Theory to Practice'. Our keynote speaker is Professor Suzanne Flynn from MIT. As is customary ARF practice, there will be multiple parallel sessions and papers related to any areas of linguistics are strongly encouraged. Call for Papers Each paper will be allotted 20 minutes for oral presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. Please note that all presenters (or at least one of them in a co-authored paper) have to be an LSHK member. Each member is maximally entitled to one single-author presentation and one joint presentation. Each submission will be an abstract of no more than 400 words in English or 800 characters in Chinese. Abstract submissions and registration will be done online at www.lshk.org. Email and/or paper abstract submissions will NOT be accepted. Authors of selected presentations will be invited to submit a paper for inclusion in the Selected Papers to be published by the Society.

It will be held in Brussels from May 28 till May 29, 2009. The conference is on any aspect of comparative Germanic syntax, including diachronic syntax and the interface between syntax and other components of the grammar. Call for Papers We invite abstracts for thirty-minute talks (followed by ten minutes of discussion) on any aspect of comparative Germanic syntax, including diachronic syntax and the interface between syntax and other components of the grammar. Abstract Guidelines: Abstracts should not exceed two pages, including data, references and diagrams. Abstracts should be typed in at least 11-point font, with one-inch margins (letter-size; 8"1/2 by 11" or A4) and a maximum of 50 lines of text per page. Abstracts must be anonymous and submissions are limited to 1 individual and 1 joint abstract per author. Only electronic submissions will be accepted.
