Description:
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures invites applications for a tenure-track position in Chinese linguistics at the level of assistant professor, to begin Fall 2009. The specific area of research within Chinese linguistics is open. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in Chinese linguistics, some teaching in the Chinese-language sequence, and graduate courses in support of the department's programs in Chinese linguistics and language pedagogy. Candidates must have a promising research program and a doctoral degree or clear indication that the degree will be in hand at the time of appointment. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2008. Letters of application, cv, transcripts, examples of written research, and three letters of recommendation should be sent to the address provided below.
