Description:
Assistant Professor in Linguistics (Developmental Dyslexia) (0,7-1.0 fte) at the Faculty of Arts who will teach in the B.A.-program in Linguistics and the M.A.-programs in Linguistics, Speech and Language Pathology and the Erasmus Mundus European Master's in Clinical Linguistics (EMCL). The candidate will jointly determine the teaching, supervision and research responsibilities of this position with the professor of Neurolinguistics and in close collaboration with other colleagues in Neurolinguistics and Linguistics. The aim of this position is to teach and carry out research in the field of linguistics, in particular in the field of Developmental Dyslexia. With respect to research we prefer the candidate to be able to make use of neuroimaging techniques like ERP and/or fMRI. Supervision of students will be an important part of this position. Besides this,the candidate is expected to participate in research groups and faculty committees. Requirements: University Graduate A neurolinguist or psychologist with an extensive knowledge of the field of Developmental Dyslexia, as well as affinity and experience with research in the field of neuroimaging, evident from: - a Ph.D. in Developmental Dyslexia - an excellent track record in research, evident from a list of (national and international) publications - broad experience in teaching using different course systems at B.A. and M.A.-level - a good command of English and the Dutch language or being prepared to learn Dutch within a short period - excellent organizational and communication skills. Conditions of employment: Maximum salary amount in Euro's a month 4,970 Employment basis: Permanent Additional conditions of employment: The University of Groningen offers a salary, according to university standards in The Netherlands, depending on research years of experience and qualifications and ranges between € 3195 and € 4970 gross per month for assistant professors, for fulltime positions. In addition, there is an 8% holiday allowance and a 6.4% end of year bonus. Employment will be on a temporary basis for two years, but with the prospect of permanent employment.
