Linguist - Knowledge Base team
Natural language processing software company, based in Montreal, Canada,
seeks a linguist with solid (fluent or native) English skills.
Candidate will be part of an R&D team responsible for architecting,
developing and maintaining the one of the world's largest general-domain
semantic knowledge base. This involves:
- working with computational linguists and software engineers to research
and develop techniques for automatic knowledge extraction and linking of
general domain knowledge from unstructured and semi-structured sources
- updating and refining semantic content, managing and editing semantic and
lexical hierarchies, and improving ambiguity resolution.
Candidate Qualifications and Characteristics:
Requirements:
- Degree in Linguistics
- Excellent academic record
- Proven ability to work well in teams
- Strong dedication and commitment
- Interest in lexicology
- Broad knowledge of popular/world culture
In addition, the following would be helpful but are not required:
- Experience with semantic disambiguation and semantic relations
- Familiarity with Linux
