Call Deadline: 31-Dec-2008
The Canadian Journal of Linguistics is soliciting proposals for articles (in either French or English) to go into a special issue on the morphology of Creole languages. The target date for the special issue is March 2011. Articles of a theoretical or descriptive nature are welcome, though a sub-theme for the volume may emerge, depending on the number and nature of the proposals received. There is a 50 (double-spaced) page limit on articles. The CJL will adhere to a strict publication deadline, so we must adhere to the target dates set out below. The proposals will be submitted to a blind, in-house referee process and the finished articles will be sent to external reviewers. Important dates: - deadline for the submission of a proposal: December 31st, 2008 - notification of acceptance or rejection of the proposal: January 31st, 2009 - deadline for submission of the article: September 30th, 2009 - articles to be sent out for review: November 15th, 2009 - deadline for submission of the final version of the article: May 31st, 2010 - publication of the volume: March 2011 Details of the proposal - No more than one page, plus an additional page for references - Two copies, one with your name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) and one without (to be reviewed) - The proposal should clearly indicate the - main point of the article - intended contribution to creolistics (or linguistics more generally) - Creole language(s) upon which the article bears Proposals based on research that is in its initial stages are welcome, as are those based on ongoing research.
