(Ref. 08/220/2) The Department has a Modern Languages component which now offers teaching positions in French, German and Spanish. Applicants should have (i) a relevant Master degree or above; (ii) linguistics training background; (iii) experience in teaching courses in one of the languages above as a foreign/second language; (iv) research interest in language teaching methodology and second language acquisition; (v) experience in curriculum development; (vi) the ability to use English as a medium of instruction; and preferably (vii) experience in teaching Asian learners at university level. Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years commencing late August 2009, renewable subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funding, and mutual agreement. Salary and Fringe Benefits Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package, including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for appointments of two years.
