Suvremena lingvistika is one of the leading Croatian linguistic journals which publishes scholarly articles and reviews from various linguistic fields and disciplines. It publishes primarily articles based on a clearly defined theoretical framework, with a precisely elaborated methodology which analyzes linguistic materials or discusses certain linguistic topics. Suvremena lingvistika decided that the issue 65/2008 should be dedicated to the thematic area of contact linguistics. The journal is planning to publish the issue in July 2008. Within the general, rather broad, framework of the thematic area several subtopics have been planned. The editorial board invites all potential authors to design their contributions according to the following topics: language contact and the minorities, language contacts and globalization precesses, bilingualism and multilingualism, language contact versus language conflict, language contact and purist tendencies, intralinguistic contact: dialect versus standard. There is room for additional contributions, therefore we invite researchers who have papers ready for publication to send us their contributions by 21 February 2008. Manuscripts may be written in French, in English or in German, and should be accompanied by an abstract of up to 10 lines in French, in English, or in German, as well as a list of the relevant key words. They should be sent to the Editor of Suvremena lingvistika, Ida Raffaelli ida.raffaelli ffzg.hr or iraffael ffzg.hr) as email attachments (Word and/or PDF). All contributions are peer-reviewed by two reviewers. There is no limit to the number of pages. Details about the journal can be found on http://suvlin.ffzg.hr. Free access (full text PDF articles) to Suvremena lingvistika is available on http://suvlin.ffzg.hr, and via EBSCO and CEEOL. The journal is indexed in prominent databases (MLA, BL, Sociological Abstracts).
