TESOL/TFL Program
Visiting Faculty Position Announcement
Full-time, visiting faculty appointment in TESOL/TFL for one academic year
August 2008 to May 2009, dependent upon funding
Minimum Requirements:
- EdD or PhD in Applied Linguistics, Sociolinguistics or TESOL (ABD
considered)
- Experience in teaching sociolinguistics courses for TESOL and Foreign
Language (FL) teachers
- Experience in teaching various graduate level courses in applied
linguistics
- Proven record of teaching excellence in teaching as demonstrated in
supervisor and peer observations, student evaluations, original materials, etc.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member
- Ability to work with graduate students from varied linguistic,
educational, and experiential backgrounds
Desirable Qualifications:
- Record of presentations and publications
- Willingness to participate in curriculum innovation
Responsibilities:
- Teach up to 12 weekly contact hours per semester
- Hold weekly office hours
- Attend monthly faculty meetings
- Participate in evaluation of MA Program Portfolios (submitted twice per
semester)
