The University of Macau is a government-funded institution located in the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. The Department of Portuguese in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities invites applications for the following academic position in the following area: Portuguese as a Foreign Language (Reference No.: FSH/DPORT/PL/02/2008) Qualifications: Applicants must be native speakers of Portuguese and must hold a doctoral degree in Applied Linguistics (Portuguese area) or in the Teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language, from an accredited institution. Applicants must have experience in the teaching of Portuguese as a foreign language and evidence of a research profile. Applicants for the rank of Associate Professor should, additionally, have a distinguished record of research and publication. The appointee will be required to teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to provide MA dissertation supervision. Annual Salary (Taxable) The position offered and taxable salary level shall be determined according to the appointee's academic qualifications, current position, and professional experience.
