Clive Perdue, Professor of linguistics, Université Paris 8, Saint-Denis,
France, director of Unité Mixte de Recherche 7023 "Structures formelles du
langage: Typologie et acquisition, poétique et métrique" (CNRS & Paris 8),
passed away on Friday 14 March 2008. A major figure in the field of SLA
Research, C. Perdue's untimely death is a great loss to the field and to
the community of French linguists.
