Description:

The Research Department of Linguistics at UCL invites applications for
AHRC-funded places in its degree programmes. Eligible programmes are:
- M.Phil./Ph.D. Linguistics
- M.A. Linguistics
- M.A. Phonology
- M.A. Pragmatics
- M.A. Syntax

Detailed information about the Department can be found on our website, and
information about the degree programmes is available via
www.ucl.ac.uk/lifesciences-faculty/degree-programmes/psychology-language-sciences/index/preview_html

Applicants should indicate on the UCL application form that they wish to apply
for a UCL AHRC studentship to be taken up on 1 October 2009. In a separate
communication, candidates should also inform Stefanie Anyadi (s.anyadi AT
ucl.ac.uk) of their intention to apply for a UCL AHRC studentship.

AHRC funding will be available through one of the two competitions (Block Grant
Partnership and Studentship Competition), but the Department will not know which
of these routes will be available until the outcome of UCL's BGP proposal is
known. The Department will shortlist candidates for nomination to receive AHRC
funding and will invite those selected to attend an interview, scheduled to take
place during the week 30 March - 3 April 2009.

Further information about eligibility and the nomination process can be found here:
http://www.ahrc.ac.uk/FundingOpportunities/Documents/pg%20guide%20student%20rec%20nom.pdf

Please note that applicants can be nominated for an AHRC studentship by one
department or programme only (see point 21 in the above document, A Guide to
Student Recruitment and Nomination, Version 3, December 2008).

Applications Deadline: 31-Jan-2009
