The International Pragmatic Association (IPrA) journal "Pragmatics" will henceforth be available in the following manner: -paper copies are sent to subscribing libraries (for which, in the course of 2009, also a system of online access will be developed) -discount members (International Pragmatics Association) get online access -full-paying members have a choice between online access (regular fee, lowered to the level of the 2001 rates) or online access + a paper copy (for a higher membership fee) -free paper copies are still sent to libraries in countries with severe currency restrictions and with possibly less-developed internet facilities -online access is given free of charge to non-paying individual members in countries with severe currency restrictions Moreover, after an embargo period of 12 months during which online access is only available for members (whether discount, full-paying or non-paying) and subscribers, all published materials are placed in open access. Member-only access to all 2008 issues is already available now to current and new 2009 members, while open-access archiving for all older issues will be developed during 2009 (in a manner to be decided on and communicated soon), a trial-run for 2007 already being in place on the IPrA website. Check out the new possibilities by clicking 'Pragmatics ONLINE (new!)' in the left hand column of the opening screen of the IPrA website http://ipra.ua.ac.be - or go directly to http://ipra.ua.ac.be/main.aspx?c=*HOME&n=1360 (where you get immediate access to the sample archive, and - after logging in as a member - to all 2008 issues). Linguistic Field(s): Pragmatics
