Lecturer in English Language Studies/Applied Linguistics Faculty of Education and Language Studies £36,532 - £43,622, Ref: 5572 Based in Milton Keynes Full time, temporary contract until 31 August 2012 The Centre for Language and Communication wishes to appoint a lecturer who will contribute to the design and development of the centre's courses in English language studies and applied linguistics. The post is to contribute initially to an undergraduate course on 'Worlds of English'; and/or a postgraduate course in applied linguistics. The Centre has established a national and international reputation in the study of language in use, and pursues research which combines theoretical advancements with a strong commitment to practical applications. It takes a broadly socio-cultural and interdisciplinary approach to the study of English/language. Most academic staff are members of one of two research groups - Applied Language and Literacies, or Educational Dialogue. You will be interested in making a contribution to a department with a strong research culture and a commitment to high quality teaching. You must have good planning and organisational skills and be interested in the role of information and communications technology for teaching and learning.
