Description:

The Department of Linguistics and Cognitive Science at Pomona College
invites applications for two full-time, one-year positions for the 2009-10
academic year, one in Syntax and one in Semantics. The teaching load for
each position is five courses for the year. One of the positions will
require an interest and competence in cognitive science, and teaching of
Introduction to Cognitive Science. Other courses will include Introduction
to Linguistics; Syntax or Semantics; seminar in the area of specialization;
and other courses such as psycholinguistics, morphology or field methods.

Preferred candidates will have the Ph.D. in hand, but ABD will be
considered. Candidates should submit an application letter, CV, teaching
evaluations (if available), three letters of recommendation, and
representative publications to karen.nightingalepomona.edu with
'Syntax/Semantics search' in the subject line of the email. Review of
applications will begin June 1, 2009 and will continue until a candidate is
hired.
