A post-doctoral research fellowship in linguistics (SKO/post code 1352) is available at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies, University of Oslo. The post-doctoral research fellowship is for a period of 3 years and will be attached to the project "Language, Culture and Identity in Migrant Narratives". The successful applicant is expected to investigate a research area within "The Negotiation of Identity in Spoken Migrant Narrative Discourse", with a special emphasis on an historical perspective to identity in narratives. The data for the proposed postdoctoral project may involve migrants in Norway or beyond. The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines. Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in an academic area which is relevant to the proposed project. Applicants must submit a project description, including a schedule of activities. It is to be assumed that the project will be completed within the 3-year period. The appointee will be expected to engage with existing research groups in the Faculty of Humanities and to contribute to the further development of the scholarly community. We are looking for strongly motivated and competent candidates, with high academic qualifications in the relevant area of research. Short listed applicants will be called to an interview at the University of Oslo.
