EALing VII Fall School in Linguistics 2009 Date: 14-Sep-2009 - 22-Sep-2009 Location: Paris, France Contact: Ernest Ulm Contact Email: ealing ens.fr Meeting URL: http://ealing.cognition.ens.fr Linguistic Field(s): Cognitive Science; General Linguistics; Linguistic Theories Meeting Description: EALing VII - Fall School in Linguistics 2009 The Department of Cognitive Studies at the Paris Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) organizes its seventh international Fall School in Linguistics (on the 'summer school' model). The goal of this interdisciplinary Fall school is to provide exposure to linguistic theory, and to grammar based approaches to cognitive studies. Its content varies from year to year, but typically includes: -General non technical introductions to contemporary linguistic research -Intensive introductory courses to some core areas of linguistic theory or relevant domains -Seminars and talks on current research -Interaction between research in grammar and some related domains e.g. Psycholinguistics of Acquisition or of processing, Neurolinguistics, Experimental Pragmatics, Philosophy of Language/Mind etc... A poster session in which school participants can present their work will be organized. A call for abstracts detailing submissions guidelines will be issued shortly. This Fall school will be held at the Ecole Normale Superieure (45 rue d'Ulm, 75005 Paris: from Monday, September 14th to Tuesday September the 22nd included. Teachers and Lecturers will include: Guglielmo Cinque Università Ca'Foscari, Venezia, Italy David Pesetsky MIT Liina Pylkkänen NYU Luigi Rizzi University of Siena, Italy Benjamin Spector Institut Jean Nicod, CNRS Megha Sundara UCLA Roger Schwarzschild Rutgers Michael Ullman Georgetown University Alan Yu University of Chicago All relevant information regarding: The registration procedure; Teaching and lecturing faculty; Calendar of courses, seminars and lectures; Abstract submissions for the poster session; Lodging and other practical information will be posted and regularly updated on the EALing website: http://ealing.cognition.ens.fr Please address all correspondence to: Ernest Ulm ealing ens.fr Registration fees: 145 Euros Space is limited.
