Description:
The Department of Computational Linguistics at the University of Heidelberg opens a position for a Computational Linguist. The position involves research and 4hrs/week teaching (in German) in our Computational Linguistics B.A. and M.A. programs, as well as administrative duties. We welcome applications of candidates holding a diploma, Masters or doctorate degree in Computational Linguistics or a related field. Post-doctoral researchers are given preference. The successful candidate has solid background in theoretical and applied computational linguistics, with emphasis on statistical, data-driven methods and a strong interest in state-of-the-art NLP research. We are an expanding team of young and dynamic researchers, working in the area of multilingual language processing, with focus on data-driven methods for semantic analysis and multilingual NLP applications. Salary: according to German scale TV-L 13 Duration: limited to one year (or two years on a half-time basis with reduced teaching load) Starting date: September 1st, 2009 Applications should include a CV, a statement of research and teaching interests, list of publications and two names of references.
