John Benjamins Publishing wishes to announce that members of the company will be attending the 11th International Pragmatics Association meeting in Melbourne, July 12-17, 2009. Present will be Ms. Seline Benjamins, Managing Director, and Mr. Jan Reijer Groesbeek, Publishing Director, who will be glad to discuss manuscript proposals and other initiatives. On this occasion Mr. John Benjamins, President, will be also present and hopes to see old friends. Benjamins will host a reception on Monday the 13th for conference participants and will take the occasion of the meeting to launch various new projects like: -New journal for 2009. 'Constructions and Frames,' an international peer-reviewed journal that provides a forum for construction-based approaches to language analysis. It is edited by Kyoko Ohara, Keio University, and Kiki Nikiforidou, University of Athens. -New journal for 2010. 'Chinese Language and Discourse; An International and Interdisciplinary Journal,' edited by K. K. Luke (Nanyang Technological University & University of Hong Kong), Hongyin Tao (University of California, Los Angeles) and Li Wei (University of London). This will be a peer-reviewed journal which seeks to publish original work on Chinese and related languages, with a focus on current topics in Chinese discourse studies. -A totally new initiative --- Handbook of Pragmatics Highlights. This series of handy paperbacks, under the editorship of Jef Verschueren, University of Antwerp, and Jan-Ola Ostman, University of Helsinki, will focus on the most salient topics in the field of pragmatics, dividing its wide interdisciplinary spectrum in a transparent and manageable way. All are invited to join us at the Benjamins exhibit. The editor of "The Pragmatics and Beyond" book series, Prof. Anita Fetzer, will also be present at the booth.
