The Conference will be held on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of birth of Jan Horecky, one of the greatest figures in the history of Slovak linguistics.

The main conference topics map the main areas of research of Professor Horecky:

-General linguistics
-Language, ethnicity, culture
-Social aspects of official and national language, sociolinguistic aspects of communication
-Semiotics, system/structure, grammar, semantics
-Word-formation, morphematics, morphology
-Terminology
-Mathematical linguistics, computer and corpus linguistics
-Contrastive research
-Classical philology

Call for Papers:

All those who would like to pay tribute to the memory of a great personality of Slovak linguistics, prof. Jan Horecky are invited to take part in the Conference that will be held on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of his birth.

The deadline for sending an application is September 5, 2009.

The deadline for submitting an abstract (10-15 lines) is January 5, 2010.
