Applications are invited for the above post in the Division of English Studies based at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. The newly established Division was founded in 2007, developing a range of Masters and BA programmes in the areas of applied linguistics, stylistics, discourse studies, modern literary studies, and language policy for higher education, EAP, and spoken English. The successful candidate will provide high quality teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students in areas related to the study of Modern English Language and Applied Linguistics and contribute to research at UNNC. Candidates must have a PhD (or be close to completion) in a relevant discipline, together with excellent research skills and evidence of the ability to produce high quality research. Experience of teaching or tutorial work in relevant subjects at degree level in an international English-speaking institution is also essential. Salary will be within the range £32,458 - £43,622 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £50,569 per annum, subject to performance). This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China, for a period of five years with effect from an agreed date in Autumn 2009.
