Conference Postponed:

Due to the extreme and difficult financial situation that Venezuela is
currently going through, and the Venezuelan universities in particular,
plus the latest troubling news that we received this last weekend from the
University of Los Andes authorities regarding the total lack of funding to
support and carry on with the 11th Latin American ESP Colloquium and the
1st Latin American LSP Colloquium next November, the Organizing Committee
has decided to postpone the Colloquium until the year 2010.

We do really apologize for the inconveniences that this decision may cause,
but the prevailing and present monetary circumstances, both at the national
and international levels, are not under our control. As you know, we are
all experiencing a lot of financial uncertainties as well as the
consequences of the world economic crisis in many areas and at all levels.
