Description:
You will primarily manage and develop the non-award bearing activities of the Centre. These currently include English language training and support (EAP), English language testing and assessment, and short courses on a range of topics. Reporting to the Centre's Director, you will lead the business development of these activities by identifying, initiating and supporting innovations and by providing strategic planning, with the aim of increasing income whilst maintaining quality. Working with the Director, you will nurture international academic and professional relationships, develop overseas collaborative activities and, where appropriate, design new courses. By providing professional and academic leadership, you will foster a collaborative working environment, encouraging a dynamic interchange between colleagues working on the different areas outlined above. You will be required to contribute to the teaching and development activities of the Centre as appropriate. You will have substantial experience and a strong academic/professional record in the field of English language teaching and/or assessment. You will have experience of teaching and, together with an understanding of marketing, you will have a track record of successful business development in relation to activities associated with English language teaching and/or assessment, including on an international basis. A fluent speaker of English, you will ideally have a good conceptual and practical grasp of the use of new technologies in ELT.
