We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

Dear linguists, I am conducting a dissertation research project focused on how texts are translated from Chinese into English. It involves reading some passages and completing an online survey about them. It should only take about 40 minutes to complete. If you are a native speaker of English (born and grew up in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States, and speak English as your first language), and you have completed at least high school education (12th grade), you are eligible to participate. You can find the translated passages and the survey by clicking on the following link or pasting the URL to your browser: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=HsfGaKi8EyxezjcLxMAQNg_3d_3d This link will be enabled till September 30, 2009. The website will not collect individually identifiable information. If you wish, please pass on this email to anyone you know who qualifies for the study. Thank you very much for your support!
