Description:
The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Illinois State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Spanish Linguistics at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics (PhD in hand by commencement of the position but for truly outstanding candidates ABD would be considered). A solid scholarly agenda and documented expertise in the teaching and study of Spanish syntax and/or Semantics are required. Normal teaching load is five courses per year (2/3 or 3/2), primarily undergraduate and graduate courses in Spanish Linguistics and advanced Spanish Language. The successful candidate must be authorized to work legally in the United States by August 16, 2010, the start date of the position. To assure full consideration, letter of application, curriculum vitae, copy of graduate transcript (original transcript is not required for application) and three letters of recommendation must arrive by November 10, 2009.
