Search under way for Executive Director of this $5 million budget, 23 staff
organization with 12,000 individual members in over 140 countries.
Seek individual to implement the organization's strategic plan through
advocacy and professional relations, conference and education programs, and
membership promotion and retention; serve as the spokesperson with the
media and the public; provide leadership to fundraising efforts; and work
with the Board to identify significant issues that affect the profession
globally.
The successful candidate will possess a Master's degree (doctorate
preferred); a minimum of five years of increasingly responsible senior
organizational management experience; and a cross-cultural sensitivity.
Preferred qualifications include fluency in a language other that English;
a degree, certification or experience teaching English to speakers of other
languages; knowledge of applied linguistics; experience living and working
abroad; a record of work, and professional development, in association
management; and a CAE or willingness to attain.
