Description:
A 1-year post-doctoral position is open at the Department of Cognitive Studies (Département d'Etudes Cognitives) of Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris) to work in the Laboratoire de Sciences Cognitives et Psycholiguistique (E. Dupoux) and the 'Neuropsychologie interventionnelle' team (AC Bachoud-Lévi), in collaboration with the linguistics group at Institut Jean-Nicod. The post-doc will preferably start in early 2009. The salary will be of approximately 2500 euros/month (net salary of approximately 2080 euros/month). Our group aims to better understand the role of the striatum in language processing in healthy subjects, but also in patients with Huntington's disease. The successful applicant should be able to collaborate with linguists, neuropsychologists and specialists of brain imaging and ERPs. He or she should impulse a multidisciplinary approach and be a link between basic research and applied research in the domain of language. Thus, the background needed includes linguistics and neuropsychology and/or experimental psychology. In addition, because our subjects and patients speak French, the candidate should be skilled in French. Patients will be seen at the Henri Mondor hospital at Créteil, healthy subjects might be seen in both places (ENS and Henri Mondor) For full consideration, please send an application and arrange for letters of reference.
