The conference aims to gather academics from various fields in order to discuss different aspects of language, cultural policy and nation building in the Low Countries during the period of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands (1815-1830).

This one-day conference will be held at the Palace of the Academies in Brussels (Belgium), and will have three thematic sessions:

- Language and linguistics
- Literary studies
- History
