Call for Papers A wide range of theoretical and practical issues is to be discussed at the conference: - Cognitive science as a new paradigm of the 21st century. - Linguistic world-image and cultural interaction. - Discourse as the subject of interdisciplinary research. - Semantics and pragmatics of text and language units. - Current issues of translation/interpreting and foreign language teaching. The Conference will include plenary and sectional meetings, a round table on 'Special Professional Training of Translators and Interpreters at Universities', and workshops led by the leading specialists in the fields of translation/interpreting and foreign language teaching. The working languages of the conference are Russian, English, German, French, and Italian. To take part in the conference please apply by e-mail at slovo csu.ru before November 1st, 2009. Remote participation in the conference is also possible. An application should include full name (with a patronymic) of the applicant, their academic degree and title, place of employment, telephone number, physical mail and e-mail addresses, the topic of the presentation. Remote participation in the conference is also possible. Please submit the articles for publication (up to 6 pages in hard or soft copies) before December 15th, 2009. Please consider the requirements for text format - MS Word 6.0-7.0 document, font- Times New Roman, font size- 14, interval- 1,5, margins- 2 cm, indentation- 1 cm (default setting). The title of the article should be capitalized (alignment- center), the second line should have the author's initials and last name (alignment - right), the third line- the name of the institution the author represents. The article should also have a 150-250-character summary in English (2-3 lines). The bibliography should be at the end of the article in alphabetical order. The bibliographical references should be put in square brackets in accordance with the State Standard (GOST) 7.0.5.- 2008... (ГОСТ 7.0.5.- 2008...) Publication fee is 100 roubles (approximately $3) per page. Doctors of Philosophy are exempt from publication fee. Payment information will be sent with the second circular.
