Description:
The Faculty of Foreign Languages, Literature and Linguistics invites applications for a new tenure-track position of Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Applied English Linguistics with special emphasis on Second Language Writing. A successful applicant will teach English academic writing and relevant applied linguistics courses, supervise students and pursue research in Second Language Acquisition or Pedagogy. A doctorate in Applied Linguistics or comparable field, teaching experience and a clear research agenda is required, as well as, near-native proficiency in English and good communication skills. The applicant must be willing to learn Icelandic within a reasonable amount of time. The appointment will be from July 1, 2009, at the earliest.
