This book is devoted to the phonological analysis of six Mexican languages: Totonac, Mixtec, Chichimec, Mixe, Amuzgo and Chinantec. For all the languages, the study includes the phonetic structure of the major features of the consonant systems; measurements of the vowel structures and the most important phonological process. The book includes a CD-ROM with the sonorous files structured in three links: 1) Patrones Fónicos, 2) Lenguas, and 3) Rasgos compartidos y no compartidos. The first one ties to every chapter in the book. The other two are autonomous and can be consulted by themselves. Lenguas gives an outline of the principal phonological features in every language. It includes the regional maps where the language is spoken. The last link (Rasgos compartidos y no compartidos) has a typological view, so it brings together what the six languages have in common in vowels, consonants and tone.
