Qs: British English Native Speakers Wanted

Editor for this issue: Catherine Adams <catherinlinguistlist.org>

We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.html.

Are you a native speaker of British English?
Do you have Internet access?
30 min time?
Please help!

Research project at the University of Tübingen, Germany, needs your help:

Study about foreign language speech imitation / language learning still
seeks participants for their native language rating database.
Native Speakers of British English (following variants: British English
(British Isles), Australian, New Zealand, South African, Singaporean) are
desperately wanted for doing a quick and easy internet rating of second
language speakers’ English pronunciation.

No age or educational restrictions on the raters. Any native speaker with
internet access can rate! Please pass on our message also to friends,
colleagues or relatives of yours or just anyone you know who would be
interested. For more information, please go to:
