Meeting Description:
Submissions are invited for papers and posters focusing on the L2 acquisition of
syntax and its interfaces with other modules of the grammar, with an emphasis on
morphology, semantics and pragmatics. Contributions which explore both empirical
aspects and theoretical issues relating to the acquisition of interface
properties are particularly welcome.
Call for Papers
The Linguistics Research Centre of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (CLUNL) is happy
to announce that a Workshop on Interfaces in L2 Acquisition will take place at
Universidade Nova de Lisboa on 19-20 June 2009. Submissions are invited for
papers and posters focussing on the L2 acquisition of syntax and its interfaces
with other modules of the grammar, with an emphasis on morphology, semantics and
pragmatics. We particularly welcome contributions which explore both empirical
aspects and theoretical issues relating to the acquisition of interface properties.

Abstract Submission
Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks, plus 10 minutes for discussion. The
workshop language is English. Authors are asked to send abstracts by e-mail, as
Word attachments, to Ana Madeira at ana.madeirafcsh.unl.pt. The abstract should
include the title, but not the author's name(s). The title of the paper, name of
the author(s), affiliation(s), postal address, e-mail address and category
(paper/poster) should be included in the e-mail message. Abstracts should be no
longer than two pages in length, including examples and references, with 2.5 cm
margins, in 12-point Times, single-spaced. Abstracts should arrive no later than
20 March 2009. Speakers will be notified of the results of their abstract review
by 30 April 2009.

Those interested in attending the workshop, whether presenting a paper or not,
should send an e-mail to Ana Madeira at ana.madeirafcsh.unl.pt by 10 June 2009
to register (there is no registration fee). Further information (including

In memory of Celia Jakubowicz
The 'V Encuentro de Gramática Generativa', which will be held in General Roca
(Patagonia Argentina) on July 29, 30, 31st and August 1st 2009, is organized by
the Maestría en Lingüística de la Escuela Superior de Idiomas (Universidad
Nacional del Comahue).
Los días 29, 30 y 31 de julio y 1 de agosto de 2009 se llevará a cabo el V
Encuentro de Gramática Generativa en la Escuela Superior de Idiomas de la
Universidad Nacional del Comahue de la ciudad de General Roca (Río Negro,
Argentina). El principal objetivo de este encuentro es, al igual que en las
cuatro ediciones anteriores, estimular la discusión acerca de los temas
salientes de la gramática desde distintos modelos formales y, paralelamente,
establecer un ámbito de encuentro e intercambio para los grupos de investigación
sobre estos temas en nuestro país. A diferencia de los otros encuentros, esta
edición contará con un Workshop en adquisición dedicado a la memoria de Celia
Jakubowicz.

V Encuentro de Gramática Generativa (EGG5)
In memory of Celia Jakubowicz
The 'V Encuentro de Gramática Generativa', which will be held in General Roca
(Patagonia Argentina) on July 29, 30, 31st and August 1st 2009, is organized by
the Maestría en Lingüística de la Escuela Superior de Idiomas (Universidad
Nacional del Comahue).
Submissions are invited for papers in any field related to the formal study of
grammar (Syntax, Morphology, Phonology, Semantics, lexical theory, interfaces,
Language Acquisition, Philosophy of language). Grammatical descriptions within
any explicit and formal framework are welcome. Talks will be organized around
major topics, depending on the content of the submissions. Unlike previous
meetings, the 2009 edition will include a special session on language
acquisition in memory of Dr. Celia Jakubowicz.

Como ya se ha anunciado en la primera circular, los días 29, 30, 31 de julio y 1
de agosto de 2009 se llevará a cabo en la Escuela Superior de Idiomas (U.N. del
Comahue), de la de la ciudad de General Roca (Río Negro, Argentina), el V
Encuentro de Gramática Generativa.
El Encuentro constará de un Workshop en adquisición dedicado a la memoria de
Celia Jakubowics, una sesión de posters, una mesa única (sin sesiones paralelas)
y una serie de conferencias plenarias.

Resúmenes
Se recuerda que la fecha límite para el envío de los resúmenes de los trabajos
propuestos es el 15 de marzo de 2009. En una extensión máxima de dos páginas
(A4, letra Times New Roman 12 y espaciado simple), deberá explicitarse marco
teórico, hipótesis y objetivos del trabajo. El 30 de abril se informará a los
autores si su trabajo ha sido aceptado para su presentación. El tiempo de
exposición será de treinta minutos, con diez minutos adicionales para preguntas
(aproximadamente 12 páginas A4 con letra Times New Roman 12 y espaciado simple).
Se espera que los trabajos sean contribuciones originales a la teoría
lingüística y/o a la descripción gramatical de una lengua particular, en alguna
de las siguientes áreas temáticas: fonología, morfología, sintaxis, léxico,
semántica, interfaces (fonología-morfología, sintaxis-morfología,
sintaxis-léxico, etc.), adquisición del lenguaje, filosofía del lenguaje.
Arancel
El arancel de inscripción al encuentro es de $100 para los expositores y $60
para los asistentes. Los estudiantes de grado quedan exceptuados del pago. Se
otorgarán certificados a los ponentes y a los asistentes.
