This conference aims to provide a forum for the presentation of research from any linguistic subdiscipline that contributes to our understanding of the structure and/or history of Japanese and Korean. The conference is organized by the Research Centre for Japanese Language and Linguistics in the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Oxford, and the Department of Linguistics at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. The keynote speakers will be: Professor Taro Kageyama (Director, the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics, Tokyo) Professor Young-Key Kim-Renaud (Chair, Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, George Washington University) Professor Beth Levin (Department of Linguistics, Stanford University) Call for Papers We welcome abstract submissions for 20-minute presentations (followed by 10 minutes for discussion) on any subfield of Japanese or Korean linguistics. Abstracts should be in pdf form, a maximum of two pages in a font no smaller than 11pt. Submission information will be available on the conference website - http://vsarpj.orinst.ox.ac.uk/jk20/ - in early 2010. The deadline for abstract submission will be 1 May 2010, with notification by 1 July 2010. A maximum of one single-authored abstract and one co-authored abstract may be submitted per person.
