First Call for Papers Areas of Study The thematic areas of study for this colloquium are: - Pragmatic, sociopragmatic, and pragmalinguistic studies of (im)politeness - Discourse analysis studies of (im)politeness - Applied linguistic studies of (im)politeness - Sociolinguistic studies of (im)politeness - Semiolinguistic studies of (im)politeness - Contrastive studies of (im)politeness and intercultural communication - Identity studies and (im)politeness - Semiotic studies of (im)politeness - Social psychology studies of (im)politeness Plenary Speakers - Antonio Briz (University of Valencia, Spain) - Patrick Charaudeau (Paris XII, France) - Silvia Kaul de Marlangeon (University of Río Cuarto, Argentina) Submission of abstracts and pre-registration Communications may last 20 minutes. All abstracts must be submitted electronically to: jescamilla uniatlantico.edu.co, with copy to programa edice.org before the 31st of March 2010. Abstracts should not exceed an A4 paper (Times, 12). The body of the abstract should include: - Title of the presentation - Author(s)' name(s) - Affiliation - Thematic area - Bibliographic references - Author(s)' email Important Dates - Submission of abstracts and pre-registration: 31 March 2010 - Acceptance of abstracts: 31 Mayo 2010 - First registration deadline: 31 July 2010 - Conference: 23-26 December 2010 Registration The registration fee is USD 120 if received before the 31st of July 2010. After that deadline the registration fee will be of USD 150.
