Description:
Lund University invites applications for the post of Professor of English, especially the English Language. The post is a permanent appointment at the Centre for Languages and Literature. The Professor will be expected to be carry out research in his/her own specialist field/s, lead and develop the doctoral programme in the English language, and supervise doctoral and master's students as well as students at advanced levels of undergraduate studies. In addition, the person appointed will be expected to teach courses for doctoral students and advanced courses at the undergraduate level. He/she will also be expected to participate actively in the development and planning of courses in the subject. Some administrative duties may be involved. The successful candidate will be expected to participate actively in the research and research environments at the Centre for Languages and Literature, and also in interdisciplinary and cross-faculty initiatives. He/she will also be expected to represent the discipline both nationally and internationally. This will involve the establishment and maintenance of scholarly contacts, as well as cooperation with other subjects and research teams and other departments and institutions of higher education, both nationally and internationally. The Professor will also be expected to initiate and run projects that are externally financed.
