No.: 3222 Job Description: The Graduate School of Language and Linguistics Studies (GSLEL) is looking to hire a full-time, visiting faculty appointment in TESOL/TFL for one academic year August 2009 to May 2010. Responsibilities: - Teach up to 12 weekly contact hours per semester - Hold weekly office hours - Attend monthly faculty meetings - Participate in evaluation of M.A. Program Portfolios (submitted twice per semester) Requirements: Minimum Requirements - Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics or TESOL (ABD considered) - Experience in teaching graduate courses for TESOL and Foreign Language (FL) teachers - Experience in teaching various graduate level courses in applied linguistics, including research methods, assessment, and SLA - Proven record of teaching excellence in teaching as demonstrated in supervisor and peer observations, student evaluations, original materials, etc. - Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member - Ability to work with graduate students from varied linguistic, educational, and experiential backgrounds Desirable Qualifications - Record of presentations and publications - Willingness to participate in curriculum innovation Additional Information: Please submit application online and the following materials: - Current CV - Letter of interest specifying particular suitability for the position - Names and full contact information for three references - Student evaluations from applied linguistics courses for TESOL and FL teachers.
