Description:

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Leeds is
offering excellent funding opportunities for exceptional applicants across a
range of subjects. We are offering:

School of Modern Languages and Cultures Postgraduate Bursaries:

- M.A. by Research or Ph.D. Bursaries: Available to candidates who have been
offered a place on a programme in the School of Modern Languages and
Cultures. The bursaries offer a contribution to tuition fees (normally half-fees
at the University's standard UK/EU rate). Both Home/EU and International
students are eligible to apply. Deadline 12 June 2009.

- Taught M.A. Bursaries: Available to candidates who have been offered a
place on a Taught M.A. in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures. The
bursaries offer a contribution to tuition fees (normally half-fees at the
University's standard UK/EU rate). Both Home/EU and International students
are eligible to apply. Deadline 12 June 2009.

Prospective postgraduate students of the School of Modern Languages and
Cultures can also apply for University of Leeds postgraduate scholarships:

- University Research Scholarships: Available for students from the United
Kingdom and other EU countries who are commencing Ph.D. study from
October 2009. Scholarships will cover academic fees at the UK rate and (for
full-time students) an annual maintenance grant of up to £13,290. Deadline 1
June 2009.

- Endowed Scholarships: Available for students from the United Kingdom
and other EU countries who are commencing Ph.D. study from October 2009.
Scholarships will cover academic fees at the UK rate and (for full-time
students) an annual maintenance grant of £8000 (unless otherwise stated).
Deadline 1 June 2009.

- 10 Full Fee MA Scholarships: available from September 2009 for full time
and part-time students from the United Kingdom and students from other EU
countries to undertake study for Masters' degrees (taught or research) in any
Faculty. Deadline 12 June 2009.

- 2 Small Endowed Awards: Available for full-time Masters' programmes in
the Faculties of Arts, Business, Education, Social Sciences & Law and
Performance, Visual Arts & Communications. Deadline 12 June 2009.

- 4 Abbey Santander and University of Leeds Postgraduate Scholarships
(Latin America): Available for candidates from Argentina, Brazil, Chile,
Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela undertaking taught
postgraduate study or Master's by Research (1 year full-time) in a range of
subjects. The value of award is £5000. Closing date to be confirmed.

- 2 Abbey Santander and University of Leeds Postgraduate Scholarships
(Spain&Portugal): Two full fee scholarships (UK/EU rate) are available for
candidates from Spain or Portugal undertaking taught postgraduate study or
Master's by Research (1 year full-time) in a range of subjects in 2009/10.
